Biographical and Professional Information

 

Born April 10, 1891, in Saginaw, Michigan, Tim McCoy began writing verse at an early age. He attended a Jesuit school in Chicago, quit and came West. He cowboyed in the Lander and Thermopolis areas, took up a homestead west of Thermopolis where he ran a dude ranch, became adjutant general of Wyoming and then became involved in various movies. At first he was in charge of working with Indians in various movies then he became a star. He traveled to Europe in wild west shows, traveled with a circus and then made an unsucceessful effort to run his own show. Following World War II McCoy went into television and became a member of traveling shows. While living in the Hot Springs County area he published poetry in various papers.
