Biographical and Professional Information

 

John Mirich was born in Gebo, Wyoming, on December 31, 1926. He spent time as a child in Rock Springs before heading to the University of Colorado for higher education. He went on to receive an Ed.D. degree in 1961. He was a policeman in Green River, Wyoming, and a state probation officer in Colorado. He worked as a professor at several colleges, inclusing Colorado State University and Metro State University in Denver. He has two sons, David and Steven. He has written many national articles in the "Journal of Criminal Law" and "Criminology and Police Service." He was a national lecturer on social problems, and had a weekly radio program on national radio for twelve years focused on crime, delingquency, school drop-outs, divorce, suicide, and drug and alcohol addiction. His book, "Our Trojan Horses" was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 1967 by the "San Francisco Examiner." He currently lives in Denver.
