Mrs. Thompson was born August 30, 1902, and died March 31, 1966, in Thermopolis. She was Hot Springs County Superintendent of Schools from 1943 until 1966. In 1949 she was elected president of the County Superintendent's Association. In 1962 she was historian of the group and that year was also named Woman of the Year by the local B & PW Club. As part of the Golden Anniversary Jubilee Celebration of the county, Mrs. Thompson gathered much material on the schools of the county with the intent of making a booklet of it.
