Biographical and Professional Information
James Cash Penney in his last book gives the reader his viewpoint and philosophy of life. Born in Hamilton, Missouri, Penney came west to Colorado for his health and on to Kemmerer, Wyoming, to work in a dry goods store. He later bought this store and another in Rock Springs, starting what was to become at the time of his death a chain of 1,600 stores. Today, the small Penney home in Kemmerer is preserved as a museum by the city and the Penney Foundation.
