Biographical and Professional Information
Estelle Ishigo was a Caucasian woman who married a man of Japanese descent, and chose to go with him when he was sent to Heart Mountain Relocation Camp in northwestern Wyoming during World War II. She kept a detailed diary, including sketches, of life in the camp, which eventually became a documentary film directed by Steven Okazaki in 1990. She passed away before she had a chance to see it.
