Biographical and Professional Information

 

Dorothy Buchanan Milek was born in Thermopolis on November 14, 1935. She attended the University of Wyoming. Mrs. Milek was a correspondent for the "Northern Wyoming Daily News" and "The Billings Gazette." She also wrote features for the two papers. Her articles also appeared in "In Wyoming," "Wyoming Heritage and Recreation," "Old West," and "True West." She wrote a column for the Thermopolis "Independent Record" and wrote a history of Hot Springs County for the Wyoming State Historical Society. Mrs. Milek worked as secretary and public relations officer for Hot Springs County School District No. 1, was Hot Springs County Library Director and director of the Hot Springs County Museum. She and her husband Bob Milek (1934-1993) raised five children in Thermopolis.
