Biographical and Professional Information
Curt Gowdy was born in Green River, Wyoming, and grew up in Cheyenne where his dad was chief dispatcher for the Union Pacific Railroad. His first broadcasting job was in Cheyenne; he went on to an award-winning sportscasting career in which he spent 15 years as the voice of the Boston Red Sox. Curt Gowdy State Park outside of Cheyenne is named for him.
