How do I add a photo?

PLEASE NOTE: We have a lot of people adding pictures! Please give your picture file a distinctive, easily recognizable name! "Susan_Vittitow.jpg" is much preferred to "sev076.jpg."

You may add a photo one of two ways. Try either of these out in the SandBox:

Link to an existing web site:

• Go the Wyoming Center for the Book home page
• Roll your mouse over the WCB log at the top of the page, and click your right mouse button on it.
• Scroll down to where it says "Properties" and click on that.
• The third item down is "Address (URL)". Copy everything on that line after the "http".
• In the wiki SandBox, click the "Edit page" button
• Paste the image into your wiki page like this: [http://www-wsl.state.wy.us/wcb/images/cfblogolg.jpg]
• Save the page
• You should see the picture now:

(If it asks you if you want to display nonsecure items, say Yes)

A good example is on Jeff Lockwood's page.

Upload a photo

We recommend you use only .jpg, .png and .gif files for images.

• In the wiki SandBox, click the "Edit page" button
• On the right hand side of the page, click the "add images" link. It will bring up a new page.
• Click the "Browse" button on the new page. It will open a box where you can browse your computer for the image file.
• Highlight the file you want and click "Open."
• If you want to upload additional files, click on "+Add more than one file" and repeat these steps.
• When you finish uploading images, close that page.
• In the SandBox in edit mode, insert this code <img src=/f/YourFileName.jpg (or .png or .gif)>
  • For example <img src=/f/cfblogo.jpg> brings up this image from the uploaded files:

• You can upload a file from any non-locked page. It will appear only on the page where you insert the code.
